Yes I agree. Mine is a jap sourced RHD LWB and 22mm RH Thread. Local supplier has been very patient about it and am sure next one will be correct. So glad this subject was aired on this site .

Re: drag link?

Got the right one fitted it and all is well. It was German made Febi
Part number 12975. It is a 22mm Right hand thread . I have a RHD 460.

Re: drag link?

Well this is quite a thread.

You would think drag links would be a common and well known replacement item for a G, and that they'd be a bit cheaper.

I happened to need one for a 2012 G350, RHD, and Gav kindly provided the details as follows, as an update to this thread.  As tempting as a new drag link is, I am going for the end only this time.

The Drag Link is A461 460 02 05 and comes complete with both ends

The Track Rod is A463 330 07 03 and comes complete with both ends

Each of them has one crimped end and one adjustable end of which both adjustable ends are the same on each bar A602 330 02 35 which is a female thread with a double threaded adjuster bar in between the end and the bar

Nuts for all ends are N000000 005437 and Split Pins are N000094 004065

I can supply any or all if required

Ends £113.88 each

Nuts £2.04 each

Pins £0.84 each

Drag Link £447.30

Track Rod £321.48

Re: drag link?

So the conclusion is that MB wants you to buy the complete drag link because that avoids the issues of combinations of thread, size and orientation, especially as the EPC might still be a bit mixed up in this area:

The EPC for my VIN showed a completely different drag link with male fitting swivel joints, whereas what I needed was the female RH threaded 22mm swivel joint.

Even then, although the one supplied ( A602 330 02 35 ) was correct. the locking bracket nut is on the rear, not the front like the original.  Possibly because its the same as the swivel joint off the end of the track rod bar behind the axle.

Here is pic of it fitted.
