Excellent service and nothing too much trouble. i don't often recommed services but this guy Dave is a Top Man.
Hello Grendle,
Thank you for that posting, I am sure this would be a valuable brake source to our members - well done.
Cheers,
Hi
My thoughts are that your brake fluid is contaminated with moisture ( from the atmosphere 24/7) it should be flushed from all the hydraulics systems every two/three years..corrosion forms inside all the ferrous parts so calipers.. rear cylinders master cylinder load control valve and the the inline pressure equalising valve are all suspect ..as is the abs controller clutch master / slave cylinder and difflock rams.. we had a 50.000 mile only SWB 463 that had stood in a barn for ten years and it cost over GBP2000 in labour and parts to refurbish the system.... you may get by with the abs controller because it is high up..." the water settles at the lower levels "there are no short cuts if the oil is discoloured cloudy or black at the individual bleed nipples corrosion is evident ( like the inside of central heating radiators)

Hi
he inline pressure retaining valve could be the cause ( not equalising ) when you press the pedal the front brakes activate first followed by the rear. the equalising valve allows fluid the flow back into the system once the pedal is released.. any restriction will cause the front brakes to bind and the hotter the discs get the worse the binding becomes... Part number of pressure retaining valve is A000 431 59 07 located in main pipe run forward chassis area (463) or inside the drivers side shock absorber mounting bracket on the (460)
Hello Grendle,
I have just read your thread on binding brakes.
Would you provide more information please. I gather that, the calipers were replaces due to leakage and you have had no issues before that.
Have you had new discs fitted? Or just renewed pads?
At this juncture, I would question the fitting of the pads, new or using your old set. The cleaning of the pads slides or the edges that rest on the caliper is crucial, these need to be thoroughly cleaned and lubricated with high melting point grease. If, you have re-used the old pads, were they put in the same position, they came out from?
Is the feeling of brake pedal the same or does this feel different?
Look forward to your response,
Hi Fixwin38,
What is the best step by step method of renewing the hydraulic oil and bleeding the system so that air does not get in? Does one start for example from the rear brakes or the front ??
Sorry, thread deleted.

Hello Grendle,
Exactly, welldone, good to hear, problem solved.

Thanks Rakesh,
