Easiest way would probably be to get hold of the VIN of the truck you are considering buying and obtain the datacard from here (together with that of your truck):

http://www.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng

You can tell the type of axles, gearbox, etc from the first digits of their serial number and check where the interior trim is in the same colour as your truck. Apart from this, most parts would be interchangeable given that both trucks are from the same year.

I don't have the VIN number but I should be able to get it.

Jesus, they aren't the same year, mine is a 1988 and the other is 1984, willthat make a difference?

Thanks Bill and Jesus

Colin

Ther may be some small detail differences in not essential items, but not on major components.

Most noticeably the design of the seat covers!

Do you think it is worth buying another G for spares, or would it just be more trouble than it's worth?

Apart from anything, I don't know if I would have the heart to pilfer bits from it, I'd probably end up trying to get it on the road again.

I haven't seen it yet and the current owner had plans to "do it up" He starts and moves it twice a week at the moment. but he tells me that he just doesn't have time.

Depends on the price and the condition of yours,
