kkk turbo on OM617

Is it possible (and easy) to install a KKK turbo from an '83 300SD to a OM617 non turbo?

Where I live we do not have the OM617a engines so it would be too expensive to have an engine shipped. That is why I am thinking only in the turbo.

Hi buy the turbo and manifolds for a direct retrofit...only problem the 617A engine is different internally ..hollow piston crowns for better cooling..heavier shell bearings throughout and a different fuel pump to give more fuel to the turbo demand.......and you need to change the entire exhaust system to a wider bore to allow the turbo output to flow freely... this includes the turbo to downpipe section.... not forgetting the turbo oil supply off the the pressure switch housing under the oil filter and the drain back into the sump........I have an 83 300SD complete that was recently shipped from Florida for the engine....and a 1985 SWB G' with the OM617A installed which is used every day......
