Had this a week now - very pleased with it. A few niggles to sort out. I want to get a hands free kit fitted and a mat for the rear and a dog guard to keep the interior as tidy as it is today. Some side steps might help - it's a bit high for the kids and other half. Oh, and a ladder to get up to the roof rack - ideally one that's not bolted to the body, don't want to be drilling any holes in it.

The tyres are 10R15 BF Goodrich All Terrains - never had a 4x4 before, is that 10" wide? What aspect ration is it? What tyre size would it have had on originally? The BFG's are about 15 years old and have done about 6k miles. There is no cracking on the sidewalls - it's been stored inside.

Re: Hello

HI and welcome.

Very tidy G you have there. Did you get it from a member? Just on the tyres, when I got my G the first time, I went off roading, I did develop a puncture as the tyres will perish slightly. Just be careful. I was fortunate that it went on a G Wagen Meet in Dent and had lots of help in directing me how to change a G Tyre (Can be done single handed, but certainly takes some time!

Anyhoo - best of luck and welcome

Re: Hello

Nice looking vehicle.
Mercedes did, once upon a time, offer a telescopic ladder that clipped to the guttering, and collapsed down to a length that would fit inside the back of the G. Seen it in the accessories brochures, but never in real life. Haven't seen any mention of one on the forum, but might be worth putting up a separate post headed Ladder under Wanted and see what happens. It would be very useful for getting stuff out of a roofbox, which I do with a small folding step ladder.
