Hi all,
I'm currently searching for my first G. I've always loved the car but found it hard to find good examples in Ireland (and it's very expense VRT to import) Since joining the GWOA however, all has changed! Plenty of examples about

I'm looking for a clean 460 or 463 for between €4000-€8000.
Currently I'm in Shanghai for 6 months but have a family member who knows about older Mercs doing the testing for me back home. Hope to have a nice G by September so I can really contribute to the GWOA forums.
If you find anything that fits the bill, let me know.

Thanks for the help,
Chris

G-Dublin,

Hi and welcome. You are in great company in Ireland. Many faithful and expert members. Please don't feel you have to wait to September to contribute - you can do so at any time!

Have you seen any G Wagens in China? Plenty of pictures in the 'Who's G is that' to post!

Anyhoo - Welcome

Re: Hi all from Dublin

Thanks for the welcome guys

Hi Fixwin, have been in contact with Eddie and my Dad's been down to have a look. He has some great examples there. The 463 lookalike seems like a great G but a bit overpriced for a 460 in my opinion, depending on how clean it is.

Actually, a nice G500 pulls up outside my apartment many evenings to pick someone up. Considering they pay about twice the price for a normal car here, this guy must have some serious cash. I'll try take a photo but seen as the owner never leaves the car that might be a bit tricky without talking to him in my basic chinese first

Hi G - Dublin the one in Cork is a 300GD underneath the 463 "add on's." .offers around Euro 6500 might get it--if you like that sort of thing..G's in Ireland with the VRT paid are very rare....there is a 460 series 280GE in Limerick.... I can send you some pics if you let me have your Email address ......

Re: Hi all from Dublin

Hi, welcome to the forum and to hopefully G ownership in time.

There is a nice bunch of anoraks over here in Ireland with regard to G wagens, some of us are sadder than others, but I think you will find for the most part we all mean well.

Another hint at a good s/h G is a swb belonged to Mick the digger based in wicklow....... try that one for size.

Otherwise enjoy the land of the rising sun until you get home to the land of the rising mortgage rates and falling banks.

Regards,

Mike

Fixwin will pm you with my email address

Yeah, seems to be a lot more people into G-Wagens in Ireland than I thought!

Met Mick the Digger before I came, very nice Turbo 460. Just couldn't justify paying extra for the VRT

Any thoughts on the '93 Black SWB 463 on donedeal.ie ????

Re: Hi all from Dublin

Spoke to him recently as he was looking for alot more money for it than he is now. It has done nothing for 2 years, parked up in a shed, just run it every now and then. He is around Kilkenny somewhere. there is a few bits and pieces to be done to it but nothing major.

Revenue threw that one at me when I was clearing mine based on his original value to sell it...........hence its still for sale.......boat missed.

Regards,

Mike

Re: Hi all from Dublin

Tough break them throwing that one at you when it was over priced. It was 12000 in September if I'm not mistaken.

Think it could be the right buy for me if I can put together some more shekels. No real rush though given that I'm on the other side of the world

Regards,
Chris
