Hi all,

I`m slowly starting project for Baltic Trophy ride challenges... Maybe somebody know what Ladoga is etc. :) So, I`m slowly searching for short w460 and thinking about best choice of motor in it. I`m thinking I want 3l TD, OM606 or OM605. OM605 how I understand is cheaper and little less weight, what is biggest problem of G in those challenges in mud. Want some 200hp from it, so there will be some electricity and turbine. Less electricity is better in this challenge, but to get big performance, it`s balance...
Wanted ask opinions of others about this motor, how I understand OM606 is in G 95-2000. And maybe how match it cost those motors and in what condition, what maybe big problems. I`m thinking to be soon in UK to buy some G and some other stuff included maybe motor for starting my project, because in Latvia we have problem with good condition cheap G for start, other stuff even bigger problem. Any thoughts?

I know the lagoda, and it's a very deep boggy challenge, it's not the engine I think you need to worry about, it's the winch! You will be using the winch more than anything, I would concentrate on that more than the engine !

Ladoga is holy grail after local challenges... 8)
I want to start to build for TR1 class auto, so I`m starting to think about what I need, and motor is important... :) I`m G lover, so I`m building on top of G... :)
About winch its tricky question, still questions about best options. Best price/performance seems to be hydraulic winch, but after two years Latvians will change TR1 rules and will be baned hydraulic and two motor electric winches... :) Russians already did it, how we have told, because they have more money, they update rules faster every year, Latvians every 4 years.
For hydraulic winch you need to rebuild your car, so I was thinking abut electric two motor winch. My friend made it by himself year ago, didn`t know about gigglepin4x4... and gigglepin winches is so expensive... :) other friend bought it for local challenges TR1 too, so we will see after month in Lithuania first Baltic season challenge how it performs... :)
I have new ComeUp 9.5 bought in august, it does the job, but not fast and G is not lightest challenge car :( but one of strongest for sure... :)
So I have lot of important question and things to buy, searching for G in UK to buy in month in £2000 price range for completely rebuilding for TR1 only.
