It is real calculation, no board computer. Fill and drive. Computer check injector flow done, pump pressure fine.

Re: g270cdi fuel consumption?

that's in the region of 20 mpg in our money or even less which is very poor indeed, what other factors are there, heavily laden, lots of climbs, very wide tyres? Try another calculation with an average speed of 80/90 km/h, the hand book should give you a predictable average at different speeds, the urban/extra urban mix that makes up the EU combined average figure.

Yes, it is 19-20 mpg (uk) Prwales. Standard tires 265/70 R16.
Compared with spritmonitor.de mine is to high. I considered 120 km/h for normal highway drive. 80/90 km/h is about 25 mpg.

Hi any diesel leaks? does vehicle roll freely? - no binding brakes...aircon compressor problems...steering alignment....

Re: g270cdi fuel consumption?

Ive had a few auto/tip 270cdi ml's, 12-15mpg towing and 20-25mpg day to day running and 25-30 mpg on a long run, I would have said 20mpg was about right in something that's as aerodynamic as a brick!

Re: g270cdi fuel consumption?

a brick with a modern cdi engine should give you between 24-30 mpg combined..

my 460 cabrio gives 24-26 mpg with the 606 td engine

Re: g270cdi fuel consumption?

Thank you guys, you have great ideas, tomorrow I will inspect aircon compressor. No leaks, everything rolls fine, car goes absolutely perfect, no smoke. That ml`s story is realistic, G is nearly 2.5 tones and with no aerodynamic, I am not surprised for 20 mpg et 75 miles/h (3-4 persons on board) but wont hear other owners, have the car just 4 months.

Just driven back to my home in an addition to the family a G270cdi LWB. Average for the 227 mile trip was 31.8 MPG. We are not allowed to exceed 110 kph here!!!

Re: g270cdi fuel consumption?

Amazing, it is 9 liters per 100 km. I have reached 23 mpg (12.5 lit/100km)constant 120 km/h. Tires had improper pressure, now it is 2.2 bar (about 31-32 psi). Plus fuel quality.

Re: g270cdi fuel consumption?

Fuel economy drops drastically above 110km/h. Also MB extra-urban figures are NOT motorway speeds but about 90km/h if memory serves...
