300GD LWB RHD 617 turbo diesel swap pictures
Hello friends,
I have a 300GD LWB 1982 and it is RHD and I am in the USA, but want as many pictures of turbo diesel swaps installed in the RHD chassis. I am most concerned with exhaust routing and anything interfering with the larger size of the engine with the exhaust/intake manifold and turbo setup. Are there any known problems for the RHD chassis? I hope I am not asking a question that has been answered before. If so, please lead me in the right direction. I have searched, but the pictures has been limited...

hi hunter,bill moss is the only mani know in existence that has succesfully fitted a 617a into a 460 .
and even fitted ac too...!!!!!
now that takes sum beating! the car now belongs to mick the digger. i am sure they can give you ALL the help needed and pics too.
how comes you have rhd in the states? you are in the states, right?? isnt it illegal,like it is here in cyprus..?

I have the aforementioned RHD 617a with aircon,let me know what pictures you need and I will post them up.
Ah well thanks guys! Huss, I don't think it's illegal to have a right hand drive here in the USA. The vehicle was imported from the UK about 10 years ago. I have all the service records (even MOT!).
I'm most curious about any major issue with fitting this engine in here. I can use my stock mounts, yes? Any modification to steeringshaft or steering box? How does one route the exhaust? Seems quite tight in there...
Pictures of those areas would be wondruous. Thank you all

No, not really, oilpan needed some mods to clear the diff, used an exhaust from a 350GD which was then made to fit to the turbo downpipe. Seems to work ok sofar.
Have attached another picture of the engine which won't do you any good whatsoever but count yourself lucky I took the others yesterday before I went playing :D
