hi i have a 300gd swb 1985 which im looking into the economics of putting it back on the road (or off as the case may be),can someone give me an idea of what mpg i should get from it?
when i had it on the road i got between 20-25mpg

also i am considering any options to make it more efficient such as hydrogen and veg oil conversions any comments on these would be welcome

i know their thirsty machines but i would still like to get it going again

err yes thats right 20 25 mpg

its not going to be any different than when yo had it on the road last

guess you can run it on veg - but its not as cheap as it used to be

or get another small motor for running around in - thats what i do

btw - binx - just what is your G doing in your pic?? Looks like it was dropped backwards from a crane - did it float? mpg underwater will be nil.

Re: Mpg? 300GD

thanks for the reply will be awhile before il have money to run my G so unfortunately.

the picture was taken in the wicklow mountains i was driving through a water ditch which i probably should have investigated further on foot first as at the end it suddenly got deep and then steep ramp up so had water over the roof then i was seeing sky!

if your ever in Wicklow i can tell you where no issues with access as its right beside a road
