Hello,

Just joined the forum.
I live in Adana, to the south of Turkey. We are John Deere tractor dealer in our region.

Me and my partner bought 2 G-Wagen sold from a government owned company. My partner's is 240GD 1986 year and mine is 230G again 1986.

These vehicles are without differential locks, both fron and rear. The rest is ok.

I recently bought an engine out of a sprinter, 2.9 turbodiesel to swap the benzin engine. Hopefully today I will have it working with the rotary pump using the ECU.

Thanks,
Nazim

Hi Nazim and welcome to the club. Good luck with the engine swap and be sure to keep us informed. are you changing the gearbox too, or just the engine?

Also many years ago I went to the John Deere factory in Illinois. Amazing set up they have there!

Re: Greetings from Turkey

Sorry, just saw your reply.

The engine swap is finished.
I had many issues to solve but, now the engine is really good.
I also put an air-air intercooler which I think is a nice fit for 460.

The gearbox, I changed it from 300D and is no good. It started to sound so wierd.
Now, I brought a sprinter gearbox. The gearing is much better but still not sure if it will fit OK.

I will post whatever I have done after I'm finished.(I do not know if it will ever be!!!)

Regards,
Nazim
