Icy road conditions
did a pirouette in our rear lane this morning, had gone to assist a neighbour in a Peugeot only to find my truck dancing sideways. Was very funny no grip even with the diff-locks on, I can see how the g can do doughnuts on ice. On a more serious note, when the snow and ice goes as it no doubt soon will, get the salt soaked muck washed of the underside of your vehicle, as this stuff causes terrible damage.
I had this conversation with my son last night when he wanted to use the G in the snow/ice.
Some people think that they’re invincible in a 4x4 (Volvo syndrome). In reality they can be an absolute nightmare, particularly on packed snow/ice. Laws of physics, Simples really. 2.5 tonnes on maybe MT tyres, it’s going to end in tears
Deep virgin snow no worries.
Anyway he took it with the instruction to not bother coming home if he bent it
What are you doing posting in the lonely hearts section Paul!?
Merry Christmas,
Russ
I echo the comments about conditions. Put my BMW Z3 into a ditch on the way to work this morning - driving very carefully but a change in road camber on a patch covered in ice just sent me spinning. Five other cars then crunched each other at the same spot.
Nobody hurt thankfully.
Go careful out there :!:

Glad you're OK. I feel safer in my Audi S3 than in the G I think...Quattro with ABS and traction control etc. plus less bulk to stop. However, there's always the temptation to overdo it that you don't get so much in the G  It's thawing out here now though so my mother's gonna make it after all
A definite error on my part this section is for those that wave is it not? I probably pressed the wrong button, the Peugeot got away with some sand under its front wheels and absolutely no help from me. But it did make me smile :)
seasons greetings
