Try the Google language service, it's not ideal but at least it gives you some idea of what it is about.

Here is a link to the site, you can translate a number of languages, so long as your puter supports the fonts.

Hi again Mahoney

Another thought about the translation service.

Don't translate too much at a time, it gets paragraphs etc mixed up and it's a heck of a job trying to understand it.

If possible, when translating lengthy lumps of text, do a bit at a time and paste it into a blank Word sheet.

It's a really useful tool isn't it.

Get's me guessing sometimes. I had a couple of emails from a man in Germany and whatever he said, it translated as "Greetings from the chair of the emperor!"

I've not had it very long, bought it just after you bought yours I think, so I've only driven on local roads so far and they are country lanes.

I've had her up to about 60mph but having read the postings on this subject, I've ordered a service kit, so I'm hoping that the new filters etc will be a big improvement.

Definately needs to warm up, when she is cold she is, as we would say in Scotland *Gie Dreich" In other words "somewhat sluggish!"

I get the impression, rightly or wrongly, that the throttle isn't opening up fully, because that last wee bit, just before you hit the metal, feels as if there is a lot more to be had if she could just get the juice!

I'm not sure whether I am more aware of the sluggishness because I drive a petrol car with a turbo or not?

Have you fitted new filters etc yet and if so did you find an improvement?

still waiting on that one colin.the old girl is still in the garage getting a damn good seeing to hopefully.

colin 60 mph seems very slow mate, i had 92 out of my G on a downhill stretch of the M1 scary as hell but she managed it. the guy who had it before me seems to have taken great care of the engine according to my mechanic.
But i do find that going uphill in fifth is all but impossible.

my mechanical knowledge is very limited at the moment but by what i have read on the forum investing in a service kit can't be a bad idea some of the guys have had noticeable results with them.good luck with the kit mate and let me know how you get on with it .

p.s. sorry if this post comes out wrong i'm checking my emails from my mobile.

cheers mate.

Hi Mahoney

Mine is in the garage getting the same treatment, mechanically at least, rust and respray scheduled for the spring time.

After I had written my last reply my son announced that he had her up to 70mph but a terrible vibration started up at about 60 and when it hadn't gone by 70 he slowed down again until it disappeared - one of the things being investigated at the garage!

The previous owner hadn't used her for about 18 months, so there are a few niggling things to be sorted out, probably as a result of not being used. I expected as much but can't complain, since the price reflected the possibility of having to rectify one or two bits and pieces. I know the mechanic who had maintained it and he that the car is mechanically in great condition.

Body isn't too bad, rear o/s passenger door is the worst but no holes.

your G sounds like good old girl colin, and it also sounds like your son could have pushed her to go a bit faster, good thing that he didn`t though she may not be quite up to it yet mate.

Mechnanical stuff should be sorted out by lunch time tomorrow and then she is getting steam cleaned underneath and then given the Finnegans Waxoil treatment and tha should be her.

It had better be, I have booked my 2 sons and me into an offroading tuition and fun weekend this Saturday and Sunday, I'm looking forawrd to that, it should be good fun :D

Your G looked really smart in the photos, I was surprised that you sent her off for some bodywork, she looked as if it had all been recently done.
