[i]just to say hello all, i've been a member for a couple of years
but never done other than look in !! so here I am trying out the site
to see if my limited techno skills work !!
my "G" is a 463 1992 300GEL which I have had almost from new it
was just a few months old and at 6000 miles, now 210000 miles

if this works I'll tyr some more !!!

like me, I watched the banter for some 5 years before joining in, can't really say welcome back so I will say, greetings and hope to see your thoughts on the topics. Your 200,000 miles will have brought/earned an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience which you can share and in so doing you will enrich this forum.

hi Paul, thanks for your warm welcome.

have really enjoyed my 16 years with the "G" and have driven most of
the 200k miles myself, Rosie still cant take to the "truck" as she fondly
refers to it, and will only use it herself as a last resort mode of transport
although both she and her Dad, love the high view point when we all go out
and the grandchildren (x5) love the off-roading, so we are usually 8 or 9 up given the chance.

the "G" has been mostly trouble free, although a couple of hoses went about 2 years back, one after the other, so I had the local garage replace
all the hoses and belts and the ch gasket, and give a general look over
to the bits that might need it, so hopefully all OK.

have asked in the transmission forum for some advice, where there is an
intermittent challenge with going backwards that has developed recently
and is the only real problem to date, although from the couple of replies
it might just be a maintenance issue, I hope so !!
