Hi,

Does anybody know if you need to drain the coolant to change the temperature sender on the OM617?

Thanks in advance.

Keeping all caps attached to what ever they are meant to be attached to, should help in lessening your coolant loss to a minimum.

When renewing the sender unit; un-pack your new sender unit beforehand and keep close by you. When, your are at your last thread of undoing the old sender unit, keep the new sender unit close to the old, so that when the old one is withdrawn from it threaded mount, you immediately fit the new, in its intended position.

In this way very little, if any fluid will be lost. Replenish, with water, any loss and make sure no small puddles are left behind for any pets or animals to be licking it as antifreeze is poisonous!
