my first car was actually the 300GD SWB that I still own and am trying to rebuild at the moment. I purchased it from my father in a a rather poor state to say the least for £20 wen I was 17, having said that it has taken me from 3ft mud bogs to the isle of anglesea and back again.He unfortunately had a cowboy do a resparay on it which was a great idea as i now have to deal with the ubseen amount of body rust.
anyway souldn't be too long untill shes finished(maybe by the summer) and then i can have some fun because frankly the 1 litre corsa that im driving at the moment is sending my crazy.

oli, i was born here, but count myself as a cypriot my friend. i am turkish,my dads from lapta [lapethos,kyrenia]. i am moving back there for good this month.
i have a few G nut friends in the north and south.where are you? here or cyprus??
hus55, at the moment i am in england tryin to rebuild my G, but would like to drive it out to cyprus at the end of the year wen it is done, where i will live and work for abit, are u taking your G's with you or are they already there? maybe we can start a club out there?!?!?

my 86 model cabrio G is in n cyprus, has been there since new.its a lhd german import and is absolutely rust free !! i have owned it since 2001 .
i loved using it when on holiday out there, but three weeks a year just wasnt enough.....but now i am gonna use it as intended !
my G300 is in the uk and currently being converted to to run on lpg aswell as petrol. i am all set to drive out to cyprus via....france, germany,italy,igoumenitsa, and then turkey. from there i will drive through istanbul and down to the south coast.
whats your route?

I have a friend in the south that owns a swb G . his name is alexis , pambos and is a member here. i have mentioned this to him and he is keen on the idea too.you might want to pm him.
how many G owners do you know of in the south?
i know about 8-10 G owners in the north.

Im going to go through france, germany, czech rep, austria, italy, monaco, spain, gibralta, over to morocco anthe across the top of africa to egypt where i can get a boat across.
i dont know of any but i guess one now, most have rediculously huge wranglers and suzukis, G is much cooler though.
do any of your G's have any mods?

as for mods on my G's, cabrio has recaros fitted now, original jump seats in the boot, it was a 230ges from factory but now has a w124 300d,goes really well too :) it get an orc bodylift, orc 2" coil lift and appropriate shocks. orc sump and petrol tank protectors are next, and 235 85 16 cooper stt's are ready to be shipped out next week :P
i also have a set of 05 model 18" alloys powder coated in matt black that have a set of 305 60 18 cooper stt's waiting to be sent out to cyprus where the alloys are at the moment :twisted:
mods, happening all the time :P the cabrio will end up with 606 turbodiesel
engine and a snorkel too...... but this is a long term project. i am sure i will bump into you in the summer.
ps, i saw a cypriot 4x4 forum l;ast night. my brother lives there and sent me the link. there are some crazy greek cypriots out there for sure :D
they are in the knowledge too 8)
the only G i saw was a red swb that was pulling a hot dog trailer :shock:

Thanks Maxwell think i might need it, i unfortunately had to rebuild most of both of the axles stuff like cv boots, bearings,seals etc , the shiny bits are the fresh powdercoat that looks much better than they did.
