New Member
Hello
I have recently purchased a 300GDS. Previously had a 460 300GD about 6 yrs ago. New G is in the garage at the moment having a few things done to it after I purchased it form e bay and drove it back 200 miles and it didnt miss a beat. Garage just told me that one of the tyres is totally shot and the brake pipes came off in his hand, so I guess I was lucky to get it back!. I posted a question on wheels & tyres on the forum before I found this part of the website!
I look forward to being a GWOA menber and speaking to you on the e mail.
Cheers
:D

Welcome to the forum.
Hi Please read your PM's
fixwin...seeing as you are the best person around here i've seen in digging up the history of cars from various sources...may i suggest you start keeping a record of the stuff you dig up (say filing by reg/VIN), in a few months you will have the closest thing to a G registry in the UK and Ireland, then we could offer a vehicle "history check" to prospective members/buyers, if the cars that are on the market have a clear history, it keeps the G's reputation clean...just a thought! i admire your detective work, keep it up!
Hi I obtain a printout of the build specification determined by the Vin number of any G's that I research.some sellers refuse to give the Vin Number for whatever reason. without the vin number I cannot develop a history and can only assume the vehicle provenance to be in doubt ....I also do the DVLA vehcle enquiry search for regn history and sorn / tax / mot status...ask the seller for invoices to support the Mot's...all to get a broader picture of the technical state of the vehicle....86000 miles on the clock sounds good until you find that it has only had Mot failure items repaired in the last 15/16 years. few stamps in the service book.and no supporting invoices...FSH is hard to verify due to lack of documents in a lot of cases..I am always willing to help when asked and I would compile a central register for GWOA members if considered appropriate....
