ive been a silly boy
ok so i love my G wagen, but as you know I have a nissan patrol. and so I wanted to see what it was capable of, so i went to give it some stick at an off road site. Now if ever anyone says G wagens are the best 4x4, I will knock you down, I have had many 4x4s and I can say I am very very impressed with the nissan. keep watching the video till the end, now I would not have attempted the drop in my G wagen, a challenge 90 went off next to me, on a much tamer bit, as they bottled what I did and he rolled his, i however played tip toe.
:D :D
WOW
Ok So why not in your "G" ?
Is it SWB against the LWB ? Patrol?
Difficult as it is to judge on a film clip,
when one sees daylight below both rear wheels ???
Interesting indeed
RESPECT!
Did you realise it was that steep or do you just have HUUGE cojones?
Good stuff!
OK Ian
Thanks for that
PS
How many popes were they electing below your bonnet?
I saw a lot of "white smoke" at various stages.

I nearly oh so nearly bought a heavily discounted SWB Patrol new, I recollect when they discountined the short but kept the long WB,
it was the turning circle that impressed most, on the hard anyways.
Methinks the wife had a wee input though, it wer'nt German were it?
PPPPS
You dont have to convince me,
I always knew the Patrol was a serious bit of kit.
Cheers
Marcus
Now to sort out the Galaxy brakes
I suspect the garage left a bleed screw slack when they MOT prepped her, shes been dribbling ever since, but hey the fluid needed changing anyways,
and the sun is shining so I shall probably "footer" at sommat else instead.
yeah i was wondering if the smoke was a new type of under-bonnet exhaust  tho seriously, the patrol is one of the most respected 4x4s in the UAE, due to its light weight and big engine, it performs v. well in desert terrain
Do you not find the Patrols width a bit of a problem in off road situations? Reckon my 463 is about a foot narrower compared to my Land Cruiser, I( know it affects stability, but makes life a lot easier on narrow green lanes.
great video, wish you have one with the G560 as well
patrol has slight longer wheelbase, and lower COG, also a lot of arse so I new the patrol would not go nose over, obviously assessed the angles. To approach use first gear and let the mighty 4.2 use its power for the engine breaking, if the nose was to dig and stop the arse would come over so a little throttle to bring nose up and arse down, as you can see on the second run I let the arse swing a little bit more  With a 90 and a g the nose would have hit the bottom quicker and the arse would quickly follow, there's not much in it but its a fine line of being safe or mad. Ill let you decide. The patrol is a swb by the way.
