I am back
Well, for a start, nobody noticed that I wasn't around. But I have to share this with you all: Yesterday at 9:00 AM I entered the operating theatre to have a cervical slipped disc removed. Three and a half hours later I was sent to my room, and by lunchtime today I was already home, barely any pains and attending to the numerous questions posted in this forum.. this is the beauty of titanium implants courtesy of the Spanish NHS which I am delighted to report, despite all these British pensioners using it for free, still works
So guys I am baaaaaaack!
Well glad that things are back to normal.
But I would hardly count 72 hours of not posting as being gone!!!
Wishing you a swift recovery

Speedy recovery Jesus.
Get yourself down to Benidorm for a few days R&R when you can (assuming you don't have to clean up the floodwater first) :D
hope you recover all ok.
and you cant complain about british pensioners. weve got a load of immigrants too!
spanish nhs is very good tho, never heard anything bad about it!
I know the NHS gets a LOT of bad press but to be honest with you I have never had any problems with them. And can honestly say have had better service and care from them than from expensive Harley Street doctors.
To the point that a close family member's life was put in jeopardy by a Harley Street doctor and saved by the NHS. They then provided them with excellent and I would say very attentive care.
If there is a problem with it, it is that it is severely underfunded. Staff are underpaid and hospitals are understaffed with equipment and facilities that are out of date and under maintained.
Well said.
In fact, even if one did not have the right to use the free care of the NHS, he would still be wise to choose it as a private patient (a side benefit being that this way, the Service can earn some sorely missed money).

Would agree with that, we had both little spiders in the same hospital - Mrs Spider was caught out becasue of that when we had little spider 2. It is amazing how fast the resources have dropped in less than 3 years.

Bollocks ! and Double Bollocks
The NHS is NOT underfunded
It is wilfully overmanaged
With horrendous wasteage
I at our local Hospital and others see groups of staff standing around "gassing".
The cleaners do not clean, neither do the nurses
I see on an annual basis here at my work the Skip loads of dumped crutches walking aids etc
Plus a mate worked as a porter, he could not stick it as most of the rest of them sat in the tea room, most of the time.
The NHS is simply far too big to work and mostly no one gives a fuck.
as for attending casualty :x
Check out Gerry Robinsons programme.
Yes there are a few dedicated staff.
and yes Denise got excellent treatment for two difficult births.
I know how much we pay between us in Nat Ins contributions
It would pay for first class private health care and probably a F----ing good pension forby.
It is wilfully overmanaged
which is why they are lacking resources. They see it is far more important to spend £100K's on managment and not on equipment/training and cleaning!

the funding is there its just being put into managers and low cost nurses instead of proper specialists.
i agree with you marcus on all but one thing the skipping of crutches. i had to do this as part of my physio job and its due to them wearing down and being unsafe in health and safety eyes so if they did fail the hospital gets in huge financial problems. i do think they should not be given out so freely.
tom
i thought this was the houses of parliament
well said Isa.
leads you on to viagra, you can get that on the nhs you know haha.
actually funny fact, viagra came about as in trials for a new drug to do with heart disease there seemed to be a common side effect in the males so they decided the should devlop that instead!
i read somewhere that viagra came from spain :!: :P
i think thats why that spaniard moved back.......cos its free out there
scrounging git.........
i feel sorry for them really :( that stuff has never been heard of by turks
now someone stop this thread before it gets to boiling point.
Welcome back,
I wish you all the best
Keep in touch, Angelos
Thanks guys
