Inaugral AGOA Treffen
Just thought that I would let you guys know that AGOA had its inaugral Treffen last weekend to celebrate 25 Years of the G-Wagen in Australia. We were fortunate to have 13 vehicles front up to Mansfield which is at the foot of the Victorian High Country in South East Australia.
While 13 may seem like a small number in other parts of the world in Australia it represents 8% of all G-Wagens sold here and for a group that has grown only by word of mouth it was a great result.
A highlight of the weekend was the arrival of two vehicles from Daimler Chrysler Australia (Yes still DCA until December) in two 270 CDI military evaluation vehicles. They spent the weekend with us and even sponsored our Saturday evening meal.
On the Saturday we travelled in convoy to Mt Terrible where the G-Wagen was first introduced to the motoring press in Australia back in November 1982. Steep rocky and dusty was the oder of the day but all topped off by lovely weather and fantastic views over the high country.
Sunday saw us tour to Mt Stirling and to the now iconic view of Craig's Hut. All good fun and a great weekend was had by all. I have added a taster but instead of flooding your forum with photos why not have a look at the ones already posted on ours.
Many thanks to our sponsors Daimler Chrysler Australia, MB Spares Canberra, Access Parts in Cheltenham Victoria and Eurotruck Importers in Georgia USA.
Enjoy
John

I must admit that 8% of all Gs sold there is a heck of a result  but most impressive is to have gotten official support from MB Australia... the most we have got so far in Spain is a cold shoulder!
Well done!
