Down here MB wont even take an order for a G55 RHD.

Just out of interest - do you theink MB would do a batch? Say if enough members expressed an interest and were to place a deposit do you think they would do a limited run of RHD's?
I saw three LHD at the G-Wagen Centre, they are very well appointed inside, and from experiaenc the 320 CDI engine is a good engine.

The G wagen centre has G320CDI's in?
What 320cdi have you had experience of, the new V6 one, (should really be called a 300cdi :lol: ) usually mated with the 7sp transmission, or the older 320cdi?
With the aussie military order, who knows there may still be a rhd option.

No, they were 320 CDIs with the new updated load out, they have two black LHD LWB 5 door and the shorter SWB again in black (I think). James also have a RHD in Black V8 G500 SWB 2001 (I was very tempted, but it did not give us the space for a Family wagen). Both were about 6 months old, German or Austrian. Expensive - about £65K+. I was very tempted, however Mrs. Spider did not get on with the LHD. I some times Drive my dad S320, same engine V6 diesel, great economy and very good performance and the 7 speed gear box.
The load out is Black leather, Center consoul with the COMMAND Sat Nav, CD, telephone and privacy glass (in Black) I am sure they have the suited 7 speed gear box you get with the new CDI's. But again I can check.
He has them out of sight, but if you call him, I am sure he would send you the photo's. Do you want me to ask? re the 400 he has one of those, not too sure how old but again it is a LHD and again in Black.
I would have said earlier, however I thought being in the UK it would be RHD or nothing

I am away on business for the next 10 or so days (trinada & Tobago, then back to the UK 24hrs and then to Romania - talk about extreams!) :cry:
I have droped James an email and asked him to post some photos - I will let you all know what his initial reply is and hopefully he will post some info in my absense.
If not I will work on getting some photo's as I have to get some 'niggly' stuff done on the G and will be oing over to his place to get it done.

Wonder why he keeps them hidden away, perhaps to stop the tyre kickers coming down perving over the new model.

Well at the AGM when we all pulled up on the first day I think there were 9 Gs initially and only one was RHD....
They are only a problem when passing trucks/buses if you don't have a passenger to spot or with ticket barriers....
i have no issues with driving a lhd G,infact most of the switches are better suited to lhd driving :P i love driving my cab in n-cyprus which i think is nicer to drive and connect low ratio and diff locks,4-speed box etc..
the turkish gvt have issues with lhd vehicles being imported into the island due to the lunatic drivers constantly driving i the middle of the road when over taking :?

actually it wasnt my brother placing the order but his brother inlaw with the wrong info :?
i was pretty adament that only the G55 WITH A PREMIUM was available in rhd but they kept blabbering on with little knowledge.
and i think that after i spoke to my brother's brother- inlaw he realised i was serious (thanks to maxwells constant digs :x )and actually went as far as placing the order only to be told that rhd was non-applicable :shock: .
