hello,

as some of you may know i am currently battling with my insurance company that have the efficiency of a russian plug factory.

i still havent got anywhere near getting a cheque so at christmas im going to be in need of a car. my insurance company say i can have one for 2 weeks only, and ive used about 6 days of it in two weekend stints to get home and back.

i have found out the other day though that they cannot put a limit on how long you have the car, especially in a fully comp situation where im not at fault, my dad said that there was a high court case the other week against an insurance company to provide a vehicle and the insurance company lost due to some sort of law that if you have insurance it is your right to a courtesy car for as long as it takes. im trying to find exact court details but having no luck at the moment.

i was hoping someone on here was quite good on the car insurance front and could give some advice to deal with Norwich Union, who to make things better have moved out to India and keep putting me through to home insurance every time i phone up!

any help would be great and sorry for the essay

Tom

Re: Car Insurance Help

Do not deal with them on the phone. Put everything in writing. Give them seven days to respond to letters and if you do not recieve a response send a chasing letter.
