Please let us know (on the forum) soon as a date is found..as some poor souls need weeks to apply for visas and the like...

Re: Graz anyone ??

How does Feb / March sound for doing the factory trip. Mid week flights are fairly cheap to Graz, so fly out on a Weds, have a few beers, factory visit on Thursday (takes about 2 hours) and return Thursday or Friday.

I am definitely up for it as I missed the last one - but I'm not flying...

If we can tie it in with the German G club then a lot more perks are on offer.

Re: Graz anyone ??

fredecosse,

I am very interested, but currently I am in Baghdad, Iraq in the service.

If the date to visit the Graz factory is scheduled after April 2008, you can count me as an attendee.

Respectfully,

James Van Thach

Re: Graz anyone ??

Hi James ,
Nice little run about there. don't suppose you will be stopping off in Shannon on your return flight.
If someone were to find a nice spare set of those running boards along an Iraqi road somewhere you could drop them off passing through. I'm sure I could arrange collection.

If its not a matter of national security, what are you doing with a G in the US military and in Iraq. I thought it was all humvees and things.

Keep safe out there.

Regards,

Mike

P.S. Would love to go to Graz too but wife would remove my head as am going to Dakar in Jan.

Re: Graz anyone ??

To the best of my knowledge its the 30th aniversary of the event this year so never a better time to go.

Personally I am trying with a mate of mine to hook up with some others and make a real good trip of it. If it all works out It will be my trip of a lifetime also trying to hook up with the events tyre sponsor maybe even get paid for my time there. Wishful thinking I know.

I go to the beach very weekend to make sandcastles to prepare for the desert. I also bring an infared lamp and a little genie to work it so that I would be used to the heat in the sand.
What do you think of my planning now!!!

Regards,

Mike

Re: Graz anyone ??

Ask Bertie's advice on how to get people to give you suitcases full of cash --- so many that you have difficulty in remembering the details.
There's your sponsorship sorted.
Cheers Mike

The 30th anniversary will be in July 2009.

Either way, I would love to go. I missed last one because I was between jobs and wasn't sure about the final outcome of it all.

Re: Graz anyone ??

Sounds good to me. Out wednesday & back Friday. However suggest whoever arranges it, it might be a good idea January/February. IE before people get busy with hols ect, bearing in mind Easter is 20th March this year & the kids are off a week before. If anyone wants I am happy to cordinate/organise(do the leg work, hotels/flights/factory liason ect) the trip with kind input from those who have the contacts at the factory. Just ask.
On a lighter note, how about if only a handfull want to go early Jan in a couple of G's in the snow! if anyone is up for it on a cost share basis!

Re: Graz anyone ??

Question: who is dealing with the permit to visit the factory?

I would like to organize something for the Spanish Club but I don't know who to speak with?
