Ballooner Ltd. Any feedback on them?
I've called twice and spoken to them with a promise of a return call....to no avail. Obviously buyers are paying them too much for the cars and they don't need my business.
It worries me about their after sales levels of service is this is any indication?
Any others have any feedback before I finally give up?

Same.... don't return calls or don't get back with promised info... and as its under new mgmt I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt.
if only one of the gwoa crew owned that management, just imagine....... :P
Am I missing something here? I assumed from the various logos and style of advertising that it was our old friend Max, back in business under a different name. The attitude, optimistic prices and access to "over a thousand acres" to test drive on, all seems rather familiar. Perhaps he didn't move to Australia after all! ....... but, I could be wrong. ;)
As far as I know one of his employess(?) bought him out and Max has absconded to Australia.
looks like the baloon can pop......... :!: :D
becareful
So far so good. I spoke with James (Lafferty), yes he did not return my initial call, but I dropped in and spoke with him, He is new to the G Wagen centre, and I have so far (like others) gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Happy to let me take the G 500 out on my own with the wife and kids for a test drive, and happy to do the list of 'fixes' I asked before I take delivery - whether it is done, I can only say when I pick it up on the 3rd.
He is happy to communicate via email, but at the moment he has telephone problems (BT not delivering the line) and only gets partial coverage on his mobile.
Unlike most MB salesmen - not pushy! (a god send) and happy to discuss and let you test drive as long as you want. He also had no problems with the kids doing a thorough 'test' of the seats. He has two very nice 3 door late V8’s (in Black) and two excellent LHD 1 year olds (again in Black).
Will let you know how he follows through with the deal.

Well James was with us at our agm last month and admited he was finding it hard as a new venture and that he had to catch up with so much lets give him time to sort himself out..He has only been trading for a few weeks....
at the end of the day he is no different than any other dealers...why should he ? We sometime have to wait for call back from our beloved MB dealer ? have we not ?? or any other car dealers or suppliers
Coming back to Max I have allways have good support and after sale services from him and would go back to him if it was needed.....
Over price cars have not been such a bad thing ....most of us have been happy selling on their car for not much less than what they paid for...
I think Ballooner's prices are actually quite reasonable now - though were a bit high when he started.
But hey he primarily services London and people who don't have the time or know how to source a late model G otherwise. So if he gets the prices he asks then power to him - after all he needs to make a living and its not exactly like Gs are flying out the door on a daily basis.
Now he needs to get himself a good PDA with a task manager so he can keep on top of things. I've asked him twice to get me a price to do a repair and still no quote.... but having said that it took nearly 6 weeks to get the same quote from MB.
The guy I spoke to was called James...thats all I know. Emailed again but no response! Daley
