Brabus tweak to my 1991 GE300
Hi,
I have asked a friend of mine in Germany to contact Brabus to ask them what mods they can make to my 1991 right hand drive G300. They asked for and have been given the engine number. My question for forum members is this :
Does anyone know what they are likely to do to the car, ? I assume they will increase the BHP  but will they also alter the suspension or anything else ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Slainte,
Pete
Hi I think you are going to have to wait and see...if Brabus had developed the engine in any way I feel sure there would be many G's around with the mods incorporated.are you coming to the next meeting of the G' Owners Ireland on the 16th of September ???
Hi the meeting is in a town called Ballynahinch in County Down initially along the roadside just past and on the same side as the fire station and then to the Green Field circuit of Wightman Plant a a place called Spa at 1030 ish on Sunday 16th September 2007..look forward to your being there...
Pete,
I own a 1993 Geländewagen Brabus G300GE LWB and my engine has been modified by Brabus as a 3.6 Liter.
I have attached three photos of her for you.

Pete,
Also on Benzworld forum there is a member named "brabus g36" that owns a 1991 Brabus G300GE 3.6.
I have attached three photos for you below.

I don't think that Brabus will even bother to reply to your request. The only engine tune up they did for the M103 engine is that shown in the pictures posted by James. Not so long ago a fellow forum member was trying to source a replacement head gasket from Brabus and they declined to even reply to him...
And even if they did, brace yourself for a very expensive quotation: the engine conversion alone was something like 5,000 pounds!
I went down a similar route some time ago with my credit card armed. Mine is a diesel 463 and they laughed at me when they heard the age of it but agreed to send me a brochure pack (charged me for it though).
My postman is now in hospital with a bad back blaming the weight of the brochure (every model mercedes they modify was in it along with a price list from hell).
Buy yourself a G400 or G55 and then they will talk to you.
Regards,
Mike
PS. James, Lovely pics especially the first three, same colour as mine but I'm not yet in your league. Soon though I hope.
forget it save your money and buy a G500.
Why don't you ask these people ...
many many thanks for all your replies. I love my 300 to bits and will persist trying to get Brabus to tune it up ! Thanks again to all....slainte, Pete
Given that we are obviously unable to stop you, we will help you instead. Find attached a contemporary account (September 1991) of the Brabus tune-up for the 300GE.
... and yes, the conversion cost was not 5 grand, but 7!!!! (plus VAT!)
Enjoy it!
Eeps! For that much sell your G and get a G500... it will be cheaper and more powerful.
Also a few people on here owned G3.6s and complained about the sudden hole that seemed to appear in their wallet when filling up...
You "attach a file after posting" box at the bottom.
There are probably other engine specialists who would do engine mods to a similar spec as brabus. Basically increase the engine size to 3.6l
Hi I know of somebody who would Turbo it...his latest turbo venture on a SWB 463 with a 603 diesel engine has proved to be a vast improvement and it will be at the meeting on 16th September
I cannot seem to be able to send personal messages....i have had the G since April this year and have taken sme photos today but do not know how the post them :-(
