oil cooler

I am about to purchase a lwb 1985 300GD. Is there any oil cooler associated wih this engine as in the 280 ge? this particular car hasnot got any but nevertheless runs very cool. How good is this engine for towing?
I am jumping on the diesel g wagens wagon as well, but will keep my beloved 280.

Shakir, I don't think they we re ever sold without an oil cooler. the 1985 300GD has the 617 engine which was supplied with an oil cooler even on the w123 saloon. It is bolted on the side of the radiator as with the 280GE and I wouldn't be surprised if the part number is the same.

thanks for that pampos, I am in lefkosa now and trying to get this lwb.
it has not got the oil cooler but engine runs sweet. does not overheat, new radiator
see how it goes. where are you?

Shakir, am also in Nicosia. It's a bit strange that it doesn't overheat. The temperatures are currently high in Cyprus.

if I manage to buy this lwb I will come over as well, so that you can have a look at it. I dont know much about diesels. I am concerned about this oil cooler already. what is the easisest way of finding you, starting from the border pass point.

Shakir, you have to cross Nicosia to find my office. It's a few meters away from the old Famagusta road.

I suggest you give me a call (Hussein has the number) and we arrange to meet somewhere that's easy for you.

i was in nicosia often pambos,mainly around orfanides,hypermarket,jumbo toy store :!: :!: ........ :?

my phone was not in use and so i was unable to contact you pambos :cry:
