Proposal to ban or restrict the use of older cars.
"Several EU proposals across the years are dangerous to the classic car movement. One that has been under consideration is to ban the use of cars older than 10 years. Similarly, Edinburgh City Council is considering the banning of cars over 15 years old from the town centre. These, and similar, proposals directly threaten the classic car movement, and encourage the manufacture of new cars, with the attendent environmental issues of sourcing raw materials, manufacturing, distriuting and scrapping the spiralling supply of new vehicles."
Im sure there are many politicians that have classic cars, cant see it personally.
This was up on another forum a few weeks ago .. argument by one was that there was actually no proposed legislation.. yes there was a Scottish "Clean Air" that enacted EU law and Edinburgh were saying in extreme they might have to ban cars plus would have to on the spot emmision test (which they are now legally enable I think) ..
So huff and puff .. a bit .. personally when they looked at the emmissions profile of a city centre.. 75-80% of the bad vehicles were HGV/Buses  .. cars may have been 80% of the traffic but they were not the places to start on...
