300GDS MPG.
Having covered a few miles now I thought it time to report the fuel economy figures for the last three tank fulls.
My vehicle is standard aside of 235/85 16 mud terrain tyres.
I have managed to get an average of 23MPG.
My journey generally consists of 6 miles of local roads and 10 miles of 'A' road @ 60mph.
I don't consider the fuel economy too bad considering the size of the G wagen
What do other members get out of their vehicles with similar tyre setup??
Kind Regards
Peter
You can track and compare your mileage here - though still not many Gs on it yet.
I get 22.50 mpg on regular diesel and 21.42 mpg on sunflower oil so your 23 sounds about right.
My calculations are based on motorway, city, road and offroad usage
My G was a 230GE cabrio in n-cyprus was converted last year to the 300D w124 (same as yours and mortinsons)i think its the 603 engine :?:
4-speed manual gearbox.
i run on 31x10.50x15 bfg's and i am over the moon to say the least :!:
my G since fitting the diesel enginewas returning about 330 miles on a full tank, which i think was working out to 26mpg.
i remember my first G,a 300GD 4 speed manual would be hard pushed to do 270-280 on a full tank.
i will re-check next week when i fly out for my hols
330 miles on a tank for a petrol? That's pretty good as I can't imagine you driving like a saint.....
Would be great if we could get more people using the mileage calculator for when these questions next arrive - which is often enough.
330 miles from the300D diesel maxwell.
the 230 GE only managed 170 if i was lucky
That's probably a little better than I got out of my 300 GDS but then I live in London and probably drove about 75mph on highway.
Roly gets fantastic mileage - I think he was saying something about 450miles per tank on a LWB!
Hus - I was going to say.... thats about the mileage I get from my G300 TD.
maxwell i think your 300GD turbo has bigger tanks in comparison to my cab's original standard fuel tanks :?:
i think it takes about 12 gallons :?: (54 LITRES)
On average I get 24, but on along trip about 26 if I don't go over 60, however has anyone noticed the difference damp air makes to the performance. Some hills you can in one gear higher, wish I could just fit some basic form of intercooling or even water injection!
I get around 30MPG in town usage and 12MPG when flooring it on the highway (60-75mph).
I recently bought a Tom Tom, and rather dissapointed with the accuracy of my speedo, which seems to exagerate rather too much.
Any one else noticed?. Not sure if this also means my MPG way out!
Thanks Maxwell,
Will keep an eye on that one.

Peter
