Hello All,
I have a 1989 300 GDS. It's leaking oil from the left side of the engine, towards the rear.
I can sort of pin it down to below the oil filter and think it could be the join between the mounting the filter sits on and the block.

Is this a known fault or could it be another source in this area??
All advice most welcome.

Also whats the best way to clean old oil off a brick drive, my power washer hardly touches it. ? (yes, I know get a decent power washer)
Regards Vic b.

Pouring Coca Cola over it and letting it soak in then washing it off I'm told is effective.

Driveway/brickwork cleaner from any good builders merchant is great.
Actually eats away the top layer of brick and removes the stain with it!

Uncanny, the original post describes exactly the leak I have too on a 300 GD 1989. Also have the Brick drive issue too. I have tried everything on it with no avail.

Currently I am just topping the G up every hundred miles or so with a little bit of oil.

Let me know if you found anything out?

Hi, just to let you know it appears to be the gasket between the oil filter mount and the engine block, I replaced it today (1 hour) and all appears o.k. If I have any luck with the drive I will inform you, Vic b
