new tyres..........

just got some new tyres they are 7.50 x16 ive been assured they fit but they look massive compared to my 205/80/16's

anyone any ideas?

If you are planning to use them on the road, be aware what the increased circumference will do to your speedo readings. In this case, if your speedo was normally accurate (which of course it isn't), your actual speed would be about 7% faster than the speedo reading.

E&OE regarding my arithmetic, but the principle still holds good.

I'm in Macclesfield.

I've got a lovely set of Romanian cross-ply 7.50x16s here on ancient Land Rover wheels - prob not going on G-wagen, though! :lol:

put my tires on looks a little bit more aggressive now! i reckon ive gained about 2inch extra clearance over my 205/80/16 tyres, bring on the dirt!!

Can you post a pic? What make are they. I ask as I have the 205 tyres on the 5.5 wheels and am about to fit new 235 tyres. I would like to see what these look like first.

i have 2 sets of wheels, one for road one for off road. they are goodyear g90's. they stand taller than 235/85/16's but are slightly narrower. i got them on ebay for 100 for set. they seem to be good off road but are a little twitchy on the motorway at speed well 70!
