Hi, just had the G serviced, reported to mechanic about loss of diff fluid the resevoir empty, hes looked and says that all pipes etc running from resevoir are fine, it is leaking from the servo underneath, is there a kit or remedy available without replacing servo.

regards Frannie

Re: leak from servo

No mention in your profile... but I am guessing it is a 460 not a 463 from the fact you wanted a 460 bumper once?

460 diff locks have no servo but have good old fashion levers to pull up (on the right side for lhd so a little awkward for rhd  ).. but 463 do have vacuum/servo type systems for their push button diff lock.

My 460 had perished rubber hose between reservoir and feed pipe and then at feed pipe to master cylinder down under the levers.. this rubber hose is a funny size but the dealer sells it by the metre for not too much. When perished it leaks.. and if this is the problem you might as well get the brake master cylinder reservoir feed hose done at the same time as it is the same perishable rubber pipe at the same stage of death... once pipes are in order then there comes the problem of making sure the bleed nipples on the slave cylinders on the axles will come undone :? . I managed to break the rear one so had to MIG weld remove the remains after taking it off to work on it. The rest of it should be plain sailing to mechanic if they think of hydraulic clutch system.. only other oddity is the switch connection at the slave to light up the dash light bulbs... fine threads+aluminium = liable to be bodged/siezed so care required. And lastly make sure they fit dust caps to the bleed nipples.
