460 - 300D - Wheels & Tyres

OK so I may be a Thicket, but just want to be sure I get the best wheel/tyre combination I can with no expensive mistakes.

The way I understand it is -:
On the original 5.5J Steel Wheels with wheel arch extensions the largest tyre I can fit is a 235/85R16.

Now for the questions -:
1) Is the above coreect ?
2) Can I fit 7.50-16 tyres ?
3) What is the American Equivalent Size (31/10.50 etc)

Please Can someone help me out here.

with a 5j steel wheel, its irrelevant if you have wheel arch extensions as the widest tyre you should fit on a 5 j rim is about 9.5. with a 7 j I would not take it larger than 11.5 width, neither will protrude past the arch extensions, and with the steel rim, it would look girly. Best combination is 15x10.50x31 or 15x11x32 on a 7j rim. or a 16" eqiuvalent.
