As in that it has turned brown/rusty coloured again, in less than 4000 ? miles, I changed the filter as well at that time.
Vehicle appears to drive 100%, takes a few seconds to build the pressure from a cold start, but once pressure built up takes up drive and changes from forward to reverse and back again with only a very slight pause.
So what is up, the local automatic transmission specialist ( for HGV & industrial ) suggests that the "clutch" plates are breaking up and contaminating the fluid -- but to keep driving her while she still does drive -- it will not do any harm -- until such time as it needs rebuilt anyway.
So do I change the fluid & filter again ? will it achieve anything ?
I wonder what use/abuse/neglect she got with Automotive Technic ?
Regards,
Marcus

Hi Marcus when you replaced the fluid did you flush the oil cooler?? does the oil have a "burnt" smell? if you put some of the rusty coloured oil into a glass jar do you get a sediment in the bottom after 24 hours? need some answers before being able to diagnose rgds
