I am delighted to input to the forums as they are very informative. My G interests started in 1982 when I bought a 280GEL new , having gone out to buy a 300GDL but not finding one. It was converted to LPG using two torpedo tanks under floor and enjoyed travelling round Europe on virtually free LPG.
Twenty years later the tanks were seriously corroded and the vehicle reverted to straight ( and expensive ) petrol. It has moved from 4mpg in 1984 with a totally porous fuel tank to normal mpg thanks to mercedes Sunderland finding me a new tank at a very good price. Despite an appetite for fuel pumps ( corrode at one per year ), the G is a family favourite . It has been attacked by rear end rust to a significant degree and is now getting attention.

The forums are really interesting and two people I have contacted have been really knowlegable and friendly.

I would love a G320CDi LWB but like Cameron Diaz it might be out of my range.
