I have a 1999 LHD G300TD purchased in Germany, which has twin catalytic converters fitted, which I would imagine is for the strict emission controls on their TUV test. Therefore now that this vehicle is registered on British roads is there still a requirement for these to be fitted on a diesel vehicle here ? The reason I ask, is that it has been suggested that I can remove these, as they are not a MOT requirement on a diesel vehicle.

Re: Catalytic converter

I would have replied much earlier but at the mo, I am experienceing a lot of web-site problems, neither my web server or microsoft can resolve the problem.
Any how my sources tell me, yes, you can remove the "Kats", like you say they are not required for UK MOT regulations.
