280 M110 torque settings
Anyone have the following torque settings please ? :
Rocker cover gasket (inc 3 centre bolts)
Sump bolts (large sump)
Sump plug
Flywheel to torque converter bolts
Exhaust manifold bolts
Oil filter assembly mounting bolts
Thanks in advance, hoping to complete the 280 coupe engine transplant into the silver gee over Christmas, and, like a lot of members have no manual on cd (yet - thanks again mercfan for when you get the go ahead).
Regards
John Leonard
I know nothing but figs from a Peter Russek pocket mechanic gives no torque data for the 110 but for the 616/617 it gives (all in foot/pounds as I am old fashioned ) as
Exaust manifold to Cylinder head 22.
sump plug M26 35
Sump plug M12 29
centre bolt and nut on oil filter cover 14.5 to 18
oil filter to crank 22
Flywheel or driven plate 22 to 30 then angle tighten by 90 to 100 degrees.
I cannot guarantee any figs and also could not find any rocker cover figures. I muddled through a website called clubGwagen.com and followed links to mercworkshop.com and found lots of useful information. My biggest problem is getting simple info like location of fuses and how do you get at the sunroof motor to name but two Good luck gary in Arborfield laso a 280GE 1987 owner :?:
