Best G-wagen book?
Hi everyone,
I need a bit of help with a Chritmas present for a future G-wagen owner.
Thought a good book on the G covering all the models, specs, history, etc.
Price doesn't matter.
Any suggestions and where to get from?
Many Thanks
The best one in English is "the legend keeps on driving" by Martin Breuninger copyright to MB offroad/tufa GmbH.
Don't know where to get it now. There are more available in German
Mercedes Benz G Wagen Gold Portfolio is a compilation of magazine review articles from 1981- 2005 which I found very useful before I bought a G Wagen earlier this year. Amazon have it for sale about £15, or e-bay often have a copy

I bought that book too .... TBH it almost put me off buying a G  The articles were not always complementary about teh G-wagens when compared to the Range Rover of teh time .... admittedly with hindsight their arguments fall down ( too expensive to buy etc ) and the Range Rover's long term quality is now questionable ;)
I fully agree with Roly. I have all books on the GWagen and I believe this one to be the best. You can find a review of the book here:

You can buy the book directly from the editors, here: http://www.gelaendewagenundfreizeit.de/impressum/index.html

David Watkins has some for sale..very nice book.
Thanks everyone for your input. Quite agree with your comments - this is an excellent book. I will contact David early next week, or if you see this David, would you be so kind to send me a PM with your number and best time to contact?
Other than this book, which would you guys say is second best?
