would this be the one below link in the autotrader @ £9,995
http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/CARS_popup.asp?searchform=&modelexa...
someone on here will know of this g
it is very like one on the press ones for the mercedes brochures
maybe im wrong
if the mileage can be verified it is a very cheap 463
1990 to 2006 is a very long time to have been driven for only 35000miles....I would be wanting to see documents in the form of the original service history book...duly stamped. allthe mot's from 1994 to 2006....all the service invoices covering the period from new ..observe that there is no mention of any of this in the advert....at 35000miles it should be on either nearly new tyres or badly worn ones and the spare should be either unused or at least matching the old ones.the exhaust system should be fairly new or about to drop off...without supporting paperwork the price asked is high by at least GBP 2500.if all is in order and you can cope with 16/20 miles to the gallon it is a good buy.....
look carefully jack and be wary of everyone!ask members directly or pm them like i did and so did hot66 recently .he has just brought his 300GES for a good price and its not without minor problems. i recently purchased my second G (280gel ) g reg, 77000 miles with documented history from a 77 year old enthusiast!Even mine has had small problems so keep asking lots of questions and dont rush, you will end up with a nice one for sure.

just been looking at the 300GES and must say it looks nice. The seats look well bolstered no cracks or heavy wear, steering wheel and pedals look ok aswell. So if its that genuine, the service book with stamps should be wrapped in cotton wool!
Between £6/6500 gives you a the chance to repair or replace anything that WILL pop up.Can you not get an inspection arranged by the AA or similar to be safe?
Hi Jack I entered this vehicle regn into the DVLA vehicle enquiry website which tells you when the vehicle tax expires or sorn ..it comes up with no data available and to call Swansea for an in depth search...I would suspect that the vehicle may have been laid up for a number of years..hence the low mileage.. look for lots of rusty areas especially underneath...or there is something to hide like accident damage../.look for uneven gaps where doors close and bonnet lies...mismatched paint or sprayed over parts like the grommets round the rear door hinges or under the windscreen rubber surround and in the engine bay..could be totally genuine and just lost all the paperwork !! get me the Vin Number of the data plate on the air intake scuttle in the engine bay or off the V5 and we will get the factory build specification for you to take with you on Saturday
2 owners, the first would have been MB milton keynes as it was possibly a press vehicle, I would check the tyres, it could be they are on there first set, and would be michelins, check wear on steering wheel and seats, foot pedal rubbers., these would all give you a good idea if the milage was original. if it is its a real find, where is it located, in the highlands ?. I have known of several G's that belonged to gentry,up there which do very little work.
It certainly is a high spec G.
Check for wear on the usual places like driver's door handle , gearstick, steering wheel. Pedal rubbers can be replaced. Also the headlight switch. Mine is scratched from years of use, that one should have no marks on it. Ignition key/s should be new.
I wonder if the original owner can be contacted. It would be a terrific G at 35000 Miles. But the speedo could have been disconnected......Youv'e got to find out the "story" where's it been? :D
Tread cautiously with this one. Why no DVLA info? Why the low mileage coupled with no service history? Did you do the HPi check?
Otherwise, also remember that this model(swb 300 petrol manual) is arguably the least sought after W463, despite good spec. On average miles, you'd find one for 6k, possibly less. Anything second hand has something wrong, low mileage ones just have different things wrong.
Mileage of 100k with full service history is worth more than 30k with no history. It is quite easy to have a speedo changed and obvious signs of wear covered up. Make sure whoever you take with you KNOWS Gs, even if you have to pay them. They are quite a different breed to anything else on this planet. Sorry to be pessimistic, but you are about to pay top money for one of these and need to be very very careful.

ironically, after driving all the engine / gearbox combos, a petrol with manual was the car we actively sorted out as for us it was the only car to consider  :D
Hi Jack I have sent you a PM... please check your private mail
Hi foneman
Thank you for your reply yes that is the G,what do you mean about the press brochures?
What he means is that by the end of 1990 Mercedes Benz UK registered at least 13 W463 GWagens to be used as press cars and which were also used to take the photographs of the only UK-only W463 sales brochure. These Gs were registered from H574ANH to H586ANH and the incumbent G of the advert is obvisouly one of these, though I haven't seen a picture of it in eitehr the press or the brochure.
Hi foneman
Thank you for your reply yes that is the G,what do you mean about the press brochures? I shall let you know what it is like after I have seen it I am taking a mechanic to look at it,if the milage is genuine is that a fair price?
