I have finally bought a G-Wagen 8)

1991 300 GES with manual box, black leather, sunroof and a few other options. Even has the 'right' private plate as both mine & my wifes names begin with J ;)

I drove the car back from London and have done a couple of local runs now too so have done about 400 miles. So far very impressed & love the manual box.

Bad points .. the tyres cause a vibration circa 50 / 60 mph but this can be driven through & it sits well at 70 / 80.

anyway here she is :)

Re: My new G-wagen

it wont be the tyres, it will be the steering stabiliser,or the wheels need balancing had those tyres on my 230, a great tyre. Nice truck, got the right colour and tyre size.

Like Peter said will be the steering damper causing the wheel wobble at exactly 60 mph, these are £90 from Euro car parts, don't forget to warn any other people who drive it until you get it replaced (can give them a fright!!) Have fun nice G

Re: My new G-wagen

Having now spent a week with the car , I'm loving it. Yesterday it was earning its keep soil testing in the Yorkshire Dales ( I work in agriculture )

Couple of small jobs needed ( wiper spindles, etc )

Service book fully stamped until 2001, then servicing done by a Mercedes mechanic friend of the previous owner who had the car for the last 6 years ( London based).

I think the reg has been on the car since '93 .
