Hello People,

Recently I was on to TB Turbos re doing a job on my "91 463 diesel, all plans had been made to ship it over to them, but just before it left they rang and said that they did not have the manifold required and would contact me again when it arrived into stock. To date no reply.

So today grabbing the bull by the horns I rang them to be told that the blueprints of the specs of the manifold in question have been mislaid and they can no longer do a turbo fitout on a 6 cylinder g wagen.

My only hope of getting the work done now rests with this club.

They need to borrow a 463 6 cylinder diesel turbo manifold for about 4 weeks to map it and make up a replica. Otherwise bye bye aftermarket turbo charging on a G wagen.

Please please pretty please has any one out there got access to the appropriate manifold or can anyone suggest another way out of this dillema?

All help would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards,
Mike

Re: A long Shot, but help required?

Hi Mike as you Know the RHD 463 is a difficult animal to turbo..I have a 603/912 engine out of a RHD 300DT saloon but have doubts about the manifold being compatible with the 463...my 463 has the TB turbo retro fit and is currently in the shop for a cylinder head gasket change would not want to lose the manifold for very long as I plan to use the G over Christmas (2006) could take some digi photos... or you could hand carry it to TB turbo's on the understanding that they do their thing WHILE YOU WAIT rgds Peter

Re: A long Shot, but help required?

Hi Peter,

I will ring them tomorrow and ask how long for definite they would need it for and what exactly is involved. I suspect that they require one of their own manifolds back so they can copy the angles, flanges, boltholes etc Personally I would imagine that digi photos would not be sufficent for their measurements.
Thank you for the prompt reply." I'll be back" as someone else once said.

Regards,
Mike

Once you get it all sorted, let us have the details - I will definately buy one of their manifolds to compare with one I made, provided they don't want mega money for it.

Different people have different views on things naturally, we wouldn't be human if we didn't as regards the club.

From my experiences to date and located where I am, this club and its online forum is worth its weight in Gold.

Anyone I have spoken to so far has been genuine and sincere and if they could offer help and or advise they did so I feel genuinely.

To Shauny+ Dawny a sincere thank you, I owe ye a pint or two. Can I propose them for service above and byond the call of duty (member of the year award).

Regards,

Mike
