Following from the last string on fuel distribution unit.

Fitted new unit in my 280 ran better than at any time in the last 18 months sailed through the emmissions test, then on the way back to the garage the misfire returned.

My mechanic and i are sure its not electrical but are going to check anyway.

On the mechanical side we have pressure tested the fuel supply which is ok, we have tested the seventh injector shts of bit early but also ok, diaphram is working fine, replaced the fuel distribution unit, rotor arm, plug leads and we are both starting to run out of ideas, hope reason etc.....

Any ideas greatfully received.

Re: misfiring help please

Sorry to hear of your troubles, fuel system issues can be a pain! I haven't read through all your previous threads so ignore this if it has been suggested/done already, but I think if you check the fuel tank side (clean inside), and lines going to/from pump (easier said than done) they may have some dirt in them? Bill had trouble recently with a 280GE that had been left standing a long time with no fuel cap, and I think that sorted it out (tank was full of ....)

Re: misfiring help please

Had one in the other day with a sticking valve when hot. Top end rebuild sorted that.
Have you tried the GWOA technical geezer?
Someone on here is sure to have his contact details, email, phone & so on.

Re: misfiring help please

M2dxd thanks for the suggestion, tank was off last year more holes than a colander! resin coated, cleaned out lines then and renewed the one by the exhaust manifold which also leaked.

Merv I will follow up with the technical rep, thanks, by the way your previous suggestion of replacing the fuel distribution unit fixed the emissions problem. :D

I am sure that the technical rep will be delighted to hear from you!
Hope you have more luck than me though, sent a querry in some time ago & still heard nothing. Can only presume that the tech rep got the email but no way of knowing.
Feel free to bell me at work if the prob persists & i will see what we can come up with.
