Même s'il ne sera pas au départ, le 3 novembre prochain, de cette première Transafricaine Classic, Jacky Ickx a d'ores et déjàpris date pour 2007. En compagnie de Claude Brasseur, le plus grand champion automobile belge tient àvivre, àrevivre, sa belle épopée de 1983, au volant de sa Mercedes.
L'hommage rendu est sincère, tant Patrick Zaniroli, lui aussi ancien vainqueur du Dakar , a réussi l'alchimie de l'aventure et de la découverte... En créant la Transafricaine Classic, la première épreuve de régularité qui s'aventurera sur les pistes africaines du tout-terrain, celui qui fut, durant près de 15 ans, le directeur sportif du Dakar a vu juste. Offrant une alternative àla vitesse pure, il marie le sport, la sécurité et la découverte dans le plus pur respect des contrées traversées.
