Hi. doing the eternal toss up between G400, G500 and older G55. Due to this fantastic forum know all the pros and cons. really then comes down to price. US stills appears to be the best place to find G500's and G55's. Even with adding 30% for duties and VAT, still seems a good deal.

Question is - does the spec for the US differ slightly to the Euro models. I know that the side lamps etc are there but what about the engine emissions and catalysts etc?
have tried calling MB UK but no joy, is there another source i can phone?

p.s does anyone know if the new MB 420 diesel is the same unit as in the G400?

p.p.s have seen the chat about the reliability of the G400. from a previous posting i managed to talk to Oswalston (spelling?) who has run a few. he has not had any problems aprt from his son writing one off on the motoring due to impact with a lorry tire bouncing down the motorway. also Pigggysims appears to have had a trouble free run...
