Re: Guru ?

Ian,
Well spotted !
I was told that it was a forestry tractor from Italy, this by another interested bystander at War & Peace Show.Dont know year, think it had a 4 cyl petrol engine, the unusual thing was the driveshaft arrangment, X configuration from a single central drop? box. A winch and crane were fitted to the rear. I was curious that it was RHD.
There was another unusual beast, a 2 tonne bulldozer c/w integral winch, air portable in a Dakota, built for airstrip construction, even in the 40's it had external hydraulics. Again a 4cyl petrol engine.Seems they were so useful after the war that they were almost all worked to death, hence now very rare, a real "big boys toy".
I will try to post photos middle of next week
