The G now comes in a:

320CDI V6;

G500 V8; and

G55 V8.

I think the 320 is the one to get. I guess they have kept the 500 as they need a petrol version and the 320 didn't have much power but had a similar thirst to the 500.

I am in Germany at the moment and may see if I can get a test drive in a 320 so I can report back. From a personal perspective the 500 is over powered. My 280 is almost quick enough but lacks the grunt of a diesel.

You should be able to get some good deals on 270s and possibly 400s though as they try to shift the stock. All the new stuff seems to have seven gears.

I presume that DC do not intend to introduce the new V8 diesel ?
Saw a review of this engine fitted to ML and GL ?in a Mercedes magazine recently.
