The price is R2 250 000. It is the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG and Wheels24 learned exclusively that it is destined for South Africa.
The G55 is based on Merc's iconic Gelandewagen, which is a no-nonsense rough and tough off-roader.

Not only does it get some serious muscle in AMG guise but also enhanced standard equipment which includes new AMG light-alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps, foglamps with a cornering light function and new paint finishes with greater scratch resistance, based on nano-technology.

The engine is 5.5-litre V8 Kompressor with a power output of 350 kW. This supercharged unit generates its maximum torque of 700 Nm between 2 750 and 4 000 r/min.

The G55 accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and the maximum speed is limited to 210 km/h.

Only a limited number of G55s have been allocated to South Africa and it will go on sale here in November. The vehicles will only be built upon receipt of a firm order by the customer.
