Re: Eastnor Castle

GWOA members who wish to attend will be reimbursed the entrance fee, but we will need the entrance receipt.
This goes for either day tickets or weekend camping tickets.
If you want to camp the weekend please let us know.

Re: Eastnor Castle

OK Chaps I finaly got the nod and the BRIXMIS G is now a permanent part of my collection, the agreement is that I have to display it a certain number of times a year and at the IWMs request take it to certain fund raising events, there is still a lot of detail work to be done to get it 100% ready for the big debut show at Duxford on the 18th,
Having just completed a hair raising F3 event in France ( see channel 4. 7-30 Sat morning next) I am going to burn the midnight oil for the next few nights. If poss I will give the GWOA the privelage of the first public showng but I think it only fair to say that if it,s not ready then Duxford will have to take priority, let me thank now the people that have made the completion of this project possible. Number one the list is twodogs with out whom this would have been abandoned on some of the dark cold nights, 2 is a guy called Dave Picton ex BRIXMIS who despite his attempts to be Mr nasty is a great guy and one of the band of brothers wether he likes it or not, and of course Bob Eggar one day I will reveal all about him.
History will be made at Eastnor, the first time a British Army Cold War Mission vehicle has been displayed in public and its a G Wagen.

Re: Eastnor Castle

I think this crowns your collection, perhaps the G with the most history out of them all! I just hope I can make it to either of those shows, pity each is 100miles from here...

Re: Eastnor Castle

The pictures posted reflect the level of interest shown. not an event I would support again.
The second year of this event and it was more poorly organised than last.
Despite it being advertised as a all makes event it is no doubt LR biased

Big thanks to Chris and Fred for organising the food and tea, great to see mates and have a chat.

Re: Eastnor Castle

Give a man a new camera, and he thinks he’s David Bailey.

Great weekend, sun, bbq’s, beer, G Wagens and cold showers. What more could you ask for.

A good display of 8 G’s, 460’s, 461 & 463’s, long and short WB.

As always good to see everyone, and a huge thanks to Chris and Fred for looking after us all so well.

Re: Eastnor Castle

a big disapointment in turn out, nothing changes there then, same old faces but still a good natter with all who attended. Have a feeling the GWOA will be no more as of next year at this rate.

Re: Eastnor Castle

I have some new-found respekt for you, now that I saw "Made on a Mac" on your site. Really looks like a pro-website, and thee best thing is the availability of G-Wizz online!
Also for hosting videos in future, you might want to consider putting them on video.google.com or videovat.com or youtube.com, as they host it for you, taking care of the bandwidth, and you can embed it (I think) into your page so it appears local.
