I would have thought not very many and of those they will be G55s. Of the others I know of, 2 400s and a 500, all were purchased outside the UK.

I understand MBUK have 100 RHD 55s on order. So they are going to want to sell them to someone.

The wrangler is a funny vehicle and you don't see many about now.

Re: How many G sold in UK?

When I went into MB Mayfair in January, they told me they had already sold something like 18 G55K RHDs since they had become available at Christmas. So thats nearly 1 a day... not to mention the half dozen or so g4/500s he said they had sold. No 270s or 320s though....

He also said last two years have been their best years in sales for quite some time... and if you spend anytime in Nottinghill you can believe that.

Re: How many G sold in UK?

In the good old days, MBUK never managed to sell more then 400 Gs in a year. When the newer 463 series was launched in 1991, the hopes were for 1,000 Gs/year an amazing figure by all standards which never got materialized.

The market hit rock bottom in 1996: just 6 new Gs were officially imported by MBUK which gave up the business that same year. Then there was this attempt by a company called Stillmans Lifestyle Vehicles Limited to officially import G500s (in RHD) plus G320s and G300TDs (in LHD) which even produced a UK Recommended Price List, but never got anywhere as far as I know.

Then there came Automotive Technik Ltd importing Puch Gs (461 G290GDTs in RHD only) until they were sucessfully banned by Caversham garage which imported G500s and G290GDTs in RHD until the end of production. I don't think that ATL imported more than 30-35 Gs, while Caversham must have reached the 100 mark.

As for the present, I am most inclined to give all credit to Max's figures...
