Beware of high priced look likes on foreign car trader sites.
I was sent the details of a 1990/91 290 TD Wolf €20,000. by a well meaning buddy, intriguied because I had never heard of such a beast I checked the detail , and followed the trail back. it started out as a 1980 250GD cabrio that had been proffesionaly modified and converted, In the country where it was built it is permitted to re-register it as a new build, but here it would still be a 1980 cabrio.
I have also spotted a couple of 290 TD in LHD being sold as MB that started life as SP, NGOs, As a rule if it,s 290 D or TD and it's white it started out as a SP NGO and was re-imported to Germany where they are quite legally re-registered as a MB,
