Hi There

I have been trying to find the right part number for the KN Filters to fit both my '83 - 300GD and '90 - 300GD? Assume they use the same filter.
I have visited the KN site throuh YB Filters but the 300GD is not listed.
Tried YB Filters again but have not received a reply.

Many thanks
Kick

Re: K & N Filters

Try them again, Kick.

Found them very helpful and successfully purchased a unit for my 460.

(I think the managers name was Phil).

Cheers

Thanks Martin

I contacted YB again but still no reply? Do you remember the part number for your 460 filter?

PS I have a question lodged under transmissions & drivetrains regarding my gearstick on my old 4 speed 460. Do you have any suggestions?

Yep,

Search thru that banner. It has been covered many times.

You need new nylon bushes, to return the shift to perfection.

It is said to be a few minutes and a few pounds work.

Re: K & N Filters

Hi Martin

Thanks so much for your reply. yes I have seen the various comments re bushes etc but somehow I didn't think this applied to my problem.
I can change gears without any problem when holding the stick firmly
in my hand. I can also get into reverse by lifting and moving accross etc. However the stick is al over the place and to me the problem is the stick
being loose in the small shaft coming up from the box. There must have been a small spindle going through the gearstick that fits in the groove on the shaft but when I tried with inserting a small spindle and screw the top back on I can only get all forward gears absolutely perfectly but can't lift and cross over to reverse? I must say that the thread inside the screw top
is almost gone and maybe that makes it go to far on the shaft to get grip and thus prevents me from lifting the stick the few millimeters it needs to get accross?
My other G is a 5 speed so I can't even have a look to compare.
Any further thoughts?
So much appreciate your help!
Cheers
Kick
